The design of the RSX Type S system maximizes airflow, and minimizes power loss caused by high intake temperatures. Installation is simple, using existing mounting locations.
 The materials used in the RSX Type S air intake are purpose specific. The heat shield is aluminum, which is ceramic coated and polished for a clean look. The ceramic coating blocks heat from the filter mounting location, keeping intake temperatures from rising to power robbing levels.
The intake pipe assembly is a large diameter stepped tube that connects to the OEM air box tube. This design allows for more flow potential by using the 3 ˝" diameter OEM tube in concert with the specially tuned Bishop MotorSports assembly to gain power across the entire RPM range. The assembly is ceramic coated, like the heat shield, so power is not lost to rising intake temperatures. The use of the OEM tube also means installation is a snap.
